Our two new colts

These two mustangs were rescued from a ranch in Nebraska and arrived at HPL May 4th. They are weak, fragile, and appear to have been starved. We welcome any help via donations or sponsors. They can be seen when visiting the ranch during operating hours (Wednesday or Saturday mornings) but they are currently in isolation as they are treated for various health problems (fleas, lice, worms, etc).

One colt is estimated to be 3-4 months old. The other colt is estimated to be 6 months old. The story of the herd these colts came from can be found on Colorado's 9 news website (search on "mustang horses" Sat Apr 25, 2009).

Many thanks to the American Humane Society, the US Humane Society, Habitat for Horses, Front Range Rescue, Bridgeport Fairgrounds in Nebraska, and all the concerned volunteers and citizens who spread the word and acted with such urgent compassion.
